KEY SOURCING CONSIDERATIONS

What decides the price and the outcome.

  • Lock the fabric composition, GSM and shade before price — everything else moves with them.

  • Lab dips and sealed samples prevent the most expensive argument later: colour.

  • Trims and accessories often come from different vendors than the garment itself.

  • Seasonal capacity is real: book knitting and dyeing slots ahead of your peak.

QUALITY & VERIFICATION

Before you pay a deposit.

  • Fabric and shade approval against sealed samples.
  • In-line and pre-shipment AQL inspection with measurement checks.
  • Testing coordination for composition, shrinkage and colour fastness.
  • Confirmation of in-house versus sub-contracted stitching capacity.

AVOID THESE

Costly mistakes in textiles & hosiery accessories.

See all costly sourcing mistakes
✕

No shade-band or shrinkage approval

Colour and shrinkage are the two most common causes of rejected bulk. Approve lab dips and a shade band in writing, and test shrinkage on the actual production fabric.

→ Bulk arrives off-colour or shrinks after washing.
✕

Skipping the golden-sample seal

Measurements drift between sample and bulk once the line is running. Seal an approved sample with a measurement chart and inspect against it mid-production.

→ No reference to reject sub-standard production against.
✕

Ignoring test-report requirements

Composition, fastness and safety testing are frequently required at import. Establish which reports your market needs before you place the order.

→ Goods blocked at customs for missing compliance.
FAQ

What buyers ask us most often in this category.

Ask the sourcing team
Where should I source cotton knitwear?

India (Tirupur and Ludhiana) leads on cotton, knits and craft; China's Keqiao is strongest for synthetics and speed.

Yes — fabric and colour approval, sealed golden samples, shade-band and shrinkage checks are part of the workflow.

Can you coordinate Oeko-Tex or test reports?

Yes, we coordinate the required test reports with the mill or an accredited lab.

Do you handle small trim orders?
